The Proposal

by mjrobinson on November 9, 2009

Hey everyone! Sorry for the posts being so spaced out, but as we stand now, we are waiting on approval of our official proposal with Urban Flats. We submitted it in business plan format per their request, and they are reviewing it thoroughly. We should hear back from them any day now. All meetings are pending a yea or nay answer.

We’re sorry to keep everyone waiting, but we should hear something very soon! If everything goes well, we may just have this Carrotmob event before or coinciding with the new year.

For everyone in the Nashville Carrotmob Committee, I have sent you via email an invite to Google Wave. I hope you haven’t thrown that out in your trash, because we may start using it as a collaboration tool to further organize the ‘mob. If you have thrown it out, just let me know and I can send another.

For everyone else, what are your expectations for our upcoming Carrotmob? Are there some things you’d like to see us do? Do you have any feedback for us? Let us know in the comments section!

That’s all for now, we’ll update as soon as we know anything further.

A Prospective Partnership

by mjrobinson on October 15, 2009

Hello, everyone! I know it’s been a long time, but we have been hard at work trying to get businesses to make bids on who gets Mobbed.

We’ve heard “No” a lot, but finally, we have gotten a tentative “Yes!” Urban Flats is excited about the Carrotmob and has asked us to put together a business plan for them to look over. It’s not a sure thing yet, but everyone seems pretty excited about it and look forward to it.

We’re looking at different ways to have the Carrotmob, since this is a restaurant and can only serve so many people. One option is having it all on one day like previous Carrotmobs, and when the tables are full, only accepting take-out orders from then on. Another is reservations every night for a week, or one day per week for a month, or et cetera.

We’re all very excited and working hard. We’ll have more news for you soon.

Video from First Meeting

by mjrobinson on September 7, 2009

The Nashville Carrotmob is officially underway! We’ve delegated the responsibilities, and have decided that we are going to get together a list of prospective businesses and will draft the letters to them by Thursday. Next week we will tackle meeting with the business owners and getting together some bids on percentage of profits they are willing to contribute toward “going green”.

In the meantime, here’s a video of our founding members introducing themselves after our successful first meeting.

The next meeting will be next Sunday at 4pm at Fido.

What do you think? Want to get involved? Leave us a message in the comments section telling us what you think!

The Journey Begins!

by mjrobinson on August 31, 2009

Hey everybody!  Micah here, updating you about Nashville’s Carrotmob.  I’ve been working with Jessica to start up a Carrotmob here in Nashville, TN, and things are going great!

We know we’re probably going to advocate for the businesses we target to go “green,” but we’re not sure exactly which type of businesses we’re going to target.  We’re thinking either grocery stores, or movie theaters.  We’re also aiming at around November-December for a date to actually have the event, if not sooner.

All-in-all we’re totally excited to be hosting this event, and can’t wait to see everyone there!  In the meantime, if you have any ideas, feel free to tell us in the comments!  We appreciate all the feedback you can give us.

Thanks a lot.
